Polyethylene glycol 6000 is a high molecular weight polymer formed by the condensation of ethylene oxide and water, with an average molecular weight of 6000. It is non-toxic and non irritating. Polyethylene glycol 6000 is a milky white solid.

As the degree of polymerization increases, the physical appearance and properties of polyethylene glycol PEG gradually change. Those with a relative molecular weight between 200-600 are liquid at room temperature, while those with a relative molecular weight above 600 gradually become semi-solid. As the molecular weight increases, it transforms from a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid to a waxy solid, and its moisture absorption capacity decreases accordingly.

[Purpose and Function]

Polyethylene glycol PEG series products are slightly toxic, non irritating, have good water solubility, and have good compatibility with many organic components. Used as a toughening agent for epoxy resin and polyvinyl alcohol. Suitable for separating polar compounds such as alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, fatty acids, esters, and many oxygen-containing and nitrogen-containing functional groups, with selectivity for the separation of aromatic and non aromatic hydrocarbons. Especially suitable for aqueous solution analysis and capable of directly measuring water. Widely used for cell fusion, it is an indispensable reagent in somatic cell genetics. They have excellent lubricity, moisturization, dispersibility, adhesives, anti-static agents, and softeners, and are widely used in industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemical fibers, rubber, plastics, papermaking, painting, electroplating, pesticides, metal processing biotechnology, and food processing.

PEG-6000 Specific Applications

Used as a coating agent in the paper industry to increase the gloss and smoothness of paper;

As an additive in the rubber industry, it increases the lubricity and plasticity of rubber products, reduces power consumption during processing, and extends the service life of rubber products;

Used as lubricants and coolants in the metal processing industry, and as dispersants and emulsifiers in the production of pesticides and pigments;

Used as anti-static agents, lubricants, etc. in the textile industry.
